No Christmas tree without a candy cane !!! I really can not imagine a christmas tree without the candy cane.

For most of us it is only candy for others there are extra meanings such as :

the cane   represents the staff which Jesus used as an attribute

the red and white represent the red of his blood against the white of his skin at the cross
