This ornament has a nostalgic feel to it, during the late 60-ies there were many of this style ornaments. A glass ball with recess into which a cute plastic figurine was glued. This is a kind of revival of this style.
I remember having this style of ornaments on the family tree when I grew up, I suppose they all got lost in time….
